Background
Office Recycling provides recycling solutions for offices, retail, and property owners, with a vision to create smarter and more efficient waste management. Together with Knightec Group, the company explored this opportunity through early innovation workshops and prototype development, leading to the concept of a connected and data-driven recycling solution.
Challenge
The challenge was to address inefficiencies in traditional waste management, where manual processes led to unnecessary pickups, increased costs, and poor resource utilization. At the same time, property owners needed to improve cleanliness, tenant satisfaction, and recycling performance, requiring a smarter and more data-driven approach to managing waste.

Wayoo’s solution combines a modular sensor system with a user-friendly platform to measure fill levels in real time and enable waste collection exactly when needed. The data supports automated recycling services, optimised logistics, and provides valuable input for sustainability reporting, including Scope 3 emissions.
Through a subscription-based model, Wayoo manages installation, operation, and maintenance—delivering lower costs, cleaner recycling rooms, and improved efficiency. By also integrating user behaviour insights, the solution ensures that data-driven optimisation goes hand in hand with usability, encouraging more people to recycle while reducing unnecessary transports.
